Precipice Trail 3

Precipice Trail in Acadia National Park is one of the best trails I've been on. It's not an easy trail but doable even if you aren't an accomplished hiker, but there are certain areas that might freak out someone afraid of heights. I went with a friend who is though, and she was fine, but we saw another guy who wasn't. My guess is he turned sharply and looked in the wrong direction at the wrong time. Poor guy. Anyway if you ever find yourself in the area, do go. It's a ton of fun and the view is spectacular. We did top to bottom in about 3-4 hours.

These are the rails driven into the face of the mountain in certain areas. The trail would not be climbable without them.
